Upper Nyack, NY: Anne Meore, Horticultural Therapist and owner Planthropy LLC, presents her program to groups of students at The Upper Nyack Elementary School. This program, developed by Anne Meore, is being used to add to their Science program with the use of indoor and outdoor garden. The students are learning about how to prepare a garden for planting, how plants grow, composting, sustainable gardening and how we interact with plants. Today students weeded the gardens and built "Earth Box" growing systems for use indoors. The "Earth Box" is a self contained growing system, which uses a water reservoir to "wick" the water up to the roots of the plants.
